Hard light is created by the sun or candles and give a definite shadow
PRINCIPLES
1. Altitude - the height position of light, moods can be created with light. This is all relevant to our subject. DO NOT LIGHT FROM THE FRONT, try from side or back to be more flattering
2. Direction - where they shot from, front back or side to side. Altitude can also impact the direction so be careful when setting both. This can impact the mood.
Frosting the light can make a hard light softer or you can use a diffuser. It allows the light to wrap around someone. They can also stop lens flare.
