A Dogumentary
A Dogumentary is performative documentary with observational qualities which examines the close relationship that exists between two separate dog owners and their pets. It aims to emotional engage its audience as it explores the nature of the relationships our two dog owners have with their pet and gives us insight into the benefits the relationship with their pet provides to their quality of life. The characters identify with the four core betterments of human and dog relationships mentioned in Dotson and Hyatt's journal Understanding human-dog companionship, those being protection, health, socialisation and companionship. We want to recreate the importance of what their mutually exclusive relationship provides each other with by giving a balance to the amount of frame each set of the human and the dog characters receive, and this is done by alternating between each set of characters for each benefit they elaborate on.
